Lydmar is a very stylish hotel, with a lot of attitude, and so far the trendiest I ever stayed at. It is perfectly located by the water, overlooking the royal castle. The staff is friendly, the bar and restaurant extremely cosy.
Silent, nicely situated, convenience, good meals
Breakfast was not that good, the hams and cheese is standard, the marmelades were not home-made as implied. The staff behaved oddly as "friends" rather than proffessional hotel employees, perhaps influenced by the sort of clients who visit this particular hotel.
i found the hotel extremely comfortable, well designed and nothing was a problem for the staff. The decor and the setting of the hotel was very good.
The hotel is small and the service is very professional and at the same time it is personal. The ambience is wonderful with a stunning display of art both in the rooms and also in the public areas. There are comfortable sitting rooms on every floor giving the hotel the atmosphere of a superior club.
Great Hotel, nice rooms, good food, friendly people, great location, international atmosphere.
Only negative point was the fact that on Friday and Saturday evening, they have DJ's playing at the terrace which is noisy and unacceptable for such a beautiful boutique hotel.
Amazing restaurant. Impeccable design. Very friendly and profesional staff, and you couldn't have a better location in Stockholm.
Is a little pricey, but compared with the Grand Hotel next door it is a much more pleasant experience.
I loved the location, the warm feel and comfort of the the rooms and common spaces, I loved the food, I loved the friendliness of the staff, and I loved all of the books everywhere!
Great location on the waterfront, very close to the old town and all the shopping streets. Lovely breakfast served in great surroundings.
Think the staff were a little nonchalant, a bit more attention at check in might have been nice - ie telling us a bit about the hotel, facilities, times of breakfast etc. No hair dryer in the room as standard. Sometimes wonder if style got in the way of functionality?
Great location next to the Grand Hotel and across the canal from the Royal Palace. Charming small hotel in an older building that has been completely renovated- the entire hotel is very modern and has a "spare but elegant" aesthetic. There is a lot of modern art on the walls, some of it photography featuring eroticism- it certainly does catch your eye! We stayed in a "double room" which was very spacious and featured great windows/natural light ( but only a view of the building next to us) and our room rate included their buffet breakfast which we found very good. It's a small hotel so it's not a huge spread but what they did offer was of very good quality (coffee was terrific) and the breakfast room is beautiful, light and bright with elegant furnishings overlooking a small park area on the side of the hotel. The room also features a mini-bar stocked with water, soft drinks, and a few snacks (all of which are complimentary) as well as a nice selection of alcohol, beer, wine ( not complimentary ). The bath amenities are lovely and of excellent quality from a local Stockholm manufacturer. The front desk staff (including bellman Javier) were very helpful and professional.
It took a really long time for the a/c in our room to cool the room to 70 degrees (from about 75). Also, our bath amenities were not replaced during our two night stay- the housekeeper fetched the shampoo & conditioner & shower gel out of the shower and fetched the body lotion from where it was intermixed with my own personal items on the bath counter and placed them right back on the "bath amenity" tray. I thought this was a little cheap for a hotel of this quality and for a hotel for which we were paying over $500 usd per night.
Unique. Beautiful. Great location.
Need better hairdryers. Need to provide earplugs to those who are light sleepers. If you face terrace, it can get loud. It's not crazy, but light sleepers might have a problem with it. Some of the photography in the hallways was very disturbing (war victims, tsunami victims and destruction). There were also some nude pictures, which were beautiful, but some may not like.
Great location, beautifully furnished.
The room was small without a desk or dressing table. We didn't like the large photographs of depreviation in American cities.
Fantastic dinning room, helpful relaxed and efficient staff, great interiors and location
Brighter lighting in rooms
The room was cold and wasn't fixed in the three nights we stayed. There was a lack of common space to relax in. No bar.
Everything. It's hip, hop and happening. Very trendy, friendly staff and great location. Loved the decor of old with new and the room was absolutley fab! Boutique hotel comes to mind.
